Breeders Crown 2&3-Year-Old Championships Now History

Somebeachsomewhere won the $500,000 Breeders Crown for 3-year-old male pacers by 1-3/4 lengths over Shadow Play in a stakes-record 1:48.3 on Saturday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack. Blueridge Western was third. Somebeachsomewhere, the favorite, was driven by Paul MacDonell for trainer Brent MacGrath and owner Schooner Stables. He has won 14 of 15 races this year and earned $2.44 million, the most of any horse in history for a single season. In Focus won the $500,000 Breeders Crown for 3-year-old male trotters by 4-1/4 lengths over Holiday Credit in 1:53.4. Deweycheatumnhowe, the favorite, was third. In Focus was driven by Dave Palone for trainer Jimmy Takter and owners Christina Takter, John Fielding, and James Fielding. He has won 11 of 17 races this year and earned $615,968.

Muscle Hill won the $700,000 Breeders Crown for 2-year-old male trotters by three lengths over Explosive Matter in 1:53.3. The time was the fastest in history for a 2-year-old male trotter. Federal Flex was third. Muscle Hill, the favorite, was driven by Brian Sears for trainer Greg Peck and owners Jerry Silva and TLP Stable. He has won eight of nine races and earned $817,301.

Well Said won the $700,000 Breeders Crown for 2-year-old male pacers by one length over Art Colony in 1:51. Dial Or Nodial was third and favorite Major In Art was fourth. Well Said was driven by Ron Pierce for trainer Steve Elliott and owners Jeffrey Snyder and Lothlorien. He has won four of 12 starts and earned $586,688.

A And G’sconfusion won the $610,000 Breeders Crown for 3-year-old filly pacers by a half length over Tug River Princess in 1:51, which equaled the stakes record set by Rainbow Blue at Woodbine Racetrack in 2004. Native Bride, the favorite, was third. A And G’sconfusion was driven by David Miller for trainer Casie Coleman and owner A&G Stables. She has won four of 16 races this year and earned $494,257.

Honorable Daughter won the $700,000 Breeders Crown for 2-year-old filly trotters by a nose over Yursa Hanover in 1:55.3. Southwind Wasabi was third. Honorable Daughter, the favorite, was driven by John Campbell for trainer Larry Remmen and owners Paolo Rosanelli and John Siena. She has won nine of 11 races and earned $835,555.

Kadealia, sent off at odds of 75-1, won the $500,000 Breeders Crown for 3-year-old filly trotters by a half length over Poster Pin Up in 1:56.1. Stage Show was third and favorite Lantern Kronos was ninth. Kadealia was driven by Tim Tetrick for trainer George Teague Jr. and owner Elmer Fannin. She has won three of 24 starts this year and earned $498,864.

Fox Valley Topaz won the $700,000 Breeders Crown for 2-year-old filly pacers by three-quarters of a length over Twist N Clout in 1:52.4. Racing Star was third and favorite Hawaiian Drink was seventh. David Miller drove Fox Valley Topaz for trainer Ken Rucker and owners Engel Stable and Rucker Stable. She has won 10 of 15 races and earned $628,880.
